The 2017/18 Bundesliga season is over – except for one thing: The Season’s Eleven. 3 players from Bayern, 2 from Hoffenheim, 2 from Leverkusen, and one from Gladbach, Schalke, Augsburg, and Stuttgart build this dream team. Logically, the team is composed predominately of the European Cup qualifiers. Of the eleven players, more than half are of German nationality. With Kimmich, Ginter, and Brandt, there are three current national players and potential World Cup participants.
Speaking of national players: Our MVP of the Season, the Brasilian, Naldo, was not nominated for his country’s World Cup squad, which is incomprehensible, at least from a performance perspectibve. The 35 year old Schalke defensive chief protected without compromise and stepped forward 7 times to score goals. Sorry, dear Dortmund Fans, but the golden goal causing the 4:4 tie during the Wahnsinns Derby in November 2017 alone qualifies him for this award. He also has an unsurprassed score. Congratulations on this outstanding season! You can find all the other judgements and decisions about the eleven in our Kicker-Article!
